HORNBY.
The annual district sports were held at .Hornby yesterday afternoon. The attendance was larger than that of last year, and the sports were very successful. The officers were : — Patron, the Hon W. Eolleston; president, Mr WV B. Clarkson ; vicepresidents, Messrs Q. W. Kussell, T. Dawson, M. Hobbs and T. Bassett ; judges, Messrs T. Monaghan, P. Flaville and D. Thompson ; starters, Messrs Susan and Barr ; hon secretary, Mr A. E. V. Morten. The Elite Band played on the ground throughout the afternoon.
