THE FLORAL FETE. TO TTTE KDITOR. Sir. — I think your sueees:tion tha.t the School Committees of Christchurch should rrive a holiday on tlie occasion of the Floral Fete, might apply to all easily get-a,t-able country schools. It would be certainly a wnolesome pleasure to the children, and an instructive one. May I suggest that the committee of the fete supply the masters with tickets a* a reduced rate for — only for— school children ; and that, as school time is so fully occupied, some good speaker deliver a lecturette on the ground, conveying the instruction you suggest. I think some older than children might be attracted by that, in preference to the show of flowers, even, "i at least, will answer for the attendance of four.— l am, etc., S.G.
