[Per. Press Association.] AUCKLAND, Sept. 12. The late Louis Ehrenfried by his will bequeathed ,£IOOO for charitable purposes. Of this sum he directed that _!5 00 should be applied for the benefit of distressed Jews in the provincial district of Auckland, the" remaining .£SOO to be divided by bis executors amongst such charitable institutions at Auckland and at Thames, as his executors should think proper. The legacy of .£SOO for the benefit of distressed Jews was paid over some time ago. Within the last few days the deceased gentleman's executors distributed the remaining i>soo amongst the following institutions: — The Hospital, Thames; Ladies' Benevolent Society, Thames; Jubilee Institute for the blind, Auckland; St Mary's Orphanage for Girls, Ponsonby; Takapuna Orphanage for Girls ; Little Sisters of the Poor, Auckland ; Salvation Army Prison Gate Brigade Home, Auckland ; and Door of Hope Home for Friendless and Fallen Women, Auckland.
