[Pkp p wrbs Association.! I INVERCARGILL, June 26. The jury in the case James Fleming' v. the Bank of New Zealand, after three and a half hours' retirement, returned a verdict for £2000 damages, answering thirteen issues in favour of the plaintiff. Argument on the points raised by Mr Ollivier for a nonsuit will be taken in Dunedin. The action created great interest here, the Court being crowded on Saturday night by persons waiting for the verdict, which' was generally expected to be in favour of the plaintiff. The claim was for iJIC^OOO, for dishonouring cheques whicu the bank recalled, and paid a few hours later.
