[Per Press Association.! WELLINGTON, June 17. A few days ago a youth named Hankins borrowed a bicycle, and amused himself by coasting down a steep street in the dark. He ran into a man named Priest and broke one of his legs. On. the ground that he had no lamp lighted and did not ring his bell, he was fined, with costs, -33 13s. -.A very heavy gale f^om the north was blowing all night and is .still raging All. small shipping is interfered with, and the Tutanekai is unable to start to repair the cable. There has been a good deal of damage to roofs and glass in the town.
