LONDON, April 1. Arrived— Banffshire. Sailed — Waikato, for Wellington. Kaikoura, for New Zealand ports. The Tongariro arrived at Plymouth today, all well. The Waikato sailed yesterday for Auckland and Wellington. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, has received the following cable message, dated LONDON, April 1. Wool. — The sales closed firmly this day. Since close of last sales the following descriptions have altered in price as under : — Merino — Washed and scoured super, washed and scoured medium and inferior, Id per lb higher; slipe, greasy medium and inferior, £d per lb higher; greasy super, greasy lambs super, greasy lambs, medium and inferior, par to id per lb lower. Cross-bred. — Fine greasy, washed and scoured per lb higher; medium greasy, slipe, medium washed and scoured, coarse greasy, washed and scoured, par to per lb lower. Other descriptions unchanged. The total quantity sold during the past sales is 202,000 bales, of which 113,000 bales have been taken for the Continent and none for America. It is estimated that 16,000 bales have been held over for future disposal. There is noAmerican demand.
