THE CHAMPIONSHIP FIRING STOPPED.
At 1.20 p.m., when the final stage of the championship was reached,, the wind had increased to hurricane force, and as the targets were collapsing, Major Sommerville gave orders to cease firing, and it is doubtful if any more shooting will be done to-day. Only a couple of shots were fired. The. officers' mess tents, the canteen marquee, and six bell tents have been levelled. If the wind continues the lot will go. ________ i _^^_
