[Pbb Press Association.! AUCKLAND, March 18. The Alameda arrived at 12.45 p.m. today from Sydney, after a fast passage of three days seventeen hoars. Among- the passongers is Mr Maxe, -who takes the ' place of Mr Cusack-Smith as British consul at Apia. The second-class hooking includes thirty miners for IGondyke. In the Btrong room the Alameda has £400,000 . of specie for England, and an additional .£60,000 will bo shipped at this port by the Bank of New Zealand. The Alameda leaves at 2 p.m. to-morrow for Sail Francisco.
