THE OTAGO JUBILEE.

Great preparations are being made foi; celebrating the jubilee cf Otago next week, and a good many visitors will go from Canterbury. In connection with the demonstration an industrial exhibition will be held, and delegates from the Canterbury Industrial Association will be sent. Amongst those who will be present at the opening ceremony will be bis Excellency the Governor, the Premier, the Hon John M'Kenzie and the Hon "W. Eolleston. The draft programme for the opening ceremony of the exhibition, which will take place on Saturday, March 26, is as follows : — His Excellency the Governor will be received by the committee, and on entering the hall "God Save the Queen" will be sung by the Choral Society, accompanied by the Orchestral Society. His Excellency, as president of the exhibition, will take the chair, and the Hon T. Fergus, vicepresident, will give a short address, stating the objects of the exhibition and details in connection with its initiation. The 100 th Psalm will then be sung by the Choral Society and audience, and his Excellency will call upon the Eight Hon R. J. Sedd'on (Premier) and the Mayor of Dunedin (Mr E. B. Cargill) to deliver short speeches. This will be followed by the chorus "Thanks be to God" ("Elijah"). Mr T. Brydone, another vice-president of the exhibition, will ask his Excellency to declare the exhibition open, and his Excellency having performed this function, the "Hallelujah" chorus ("Messiah") will be performed, and the proceedings will close.
