SCHOOL COMMITTEES.
The monthly meeting of the West Christchurch School Committee was held on Wednesday evening; present — Messrs W. M'Clea "(Chairman), G-. T. Chisnall, G. Watson, J. Parks and W. J. Watson. Apologies were received from Dr Moorhouse and Mr Morris. The resignation of Miss Christina Kirk, who had obtained an appointment at the High School, Napier, was accepted with regret at losing her services, and the committee agreed to congratulate her upon her advancement in the teaching profession. It was decided to consider the question of filling the vacancy at a special meeting on Monday evening next. It was decided to take the same holidays as for the last year or two, viz., the Easter week and a week after the examination. It was decided to ask the Board to renew the fence and gates in the front, put new concrete steps to the doors arid, provide a drinking place for the infant children.
