Brassey,, speaking at a meeting at Tunbridg'e Wells, said that Great Britain was now well able to meet any two Powers. In a naval combat she could hold her own against the allied forces of Russia', Germany and France. News has been received that a force of Russian marines landed at Chemulpo, in Corea, and proceeded to Seoul, the capital.. They, took with them a large quantity of stores. Received March 17, 9.45 a.m. At the conference of the Associated Chambers of Commerce it was reaolved to urge the Government to press China with the view of obtaining permission to construct a railway from British Burmah to a position in the Upper Yang-tse-Kiang Valley.
