LAWN TENNIS.
■ .* On Saturday a team from the Woodend Tennis Club journeyed to Christchurch and played a match against a team from the Windsor Club, which resulted in a win for the former club by five games. Some of the matches were somewhat interfered with by showers of rain which fell during the afternoon. Refreshments were served by the Windsor Club. Results: — Gentlemen's Singles— Daniell (Woodend) beat Nicholson (Windsor), 9-8; Morriss (Wd.) beat Stevenson (Wr.l, 9-4*'; Bruusden (Wr.) beat Mossninn (Wd.), 6-5; Dunnage (Wr.) beat Pegler (Wd.), 6-0. Ladies' Double's— Mrs Armitage and Hiss Henry (Wd.) beat Hiss Watkins and Miss Boyd (Wr), 6-4; Jilrs Armitage and Miss Parkin (Wd ) teat Miss Fubliugnud Miss Watkins (Wr.), G-t. Gentlemen's Doubles — Daniell and Morriss (Wd.) beat Nicholson and Stevenson (Wr.), 6-8; Bruusden and iluuuage (Wr.) beat Pegler and Mossinan (Wd.), 6-5; Brnnsden and Dunnage (Wr,) beat Pegler and Farrer (Wd.), tj-1. < Combined Doubles— Daniell and Mrs Arrnitage (Wd.) bent Nicholson and Miss Watkins (Wr.), 6-1 ; Morriss and Miss Henry (Wd.) beat Bhaw and Miss Boyd (Wr.), C-4 ; Dmmiige and Miss Fabhug (Wr.) beat Vaster and Miss ParMh ( Wd.), 64.
