MARKET REPORTS.

GRAIN AND PRODUCE. There is but little change to record in the grain and produce markets during the past day or two. Millers still decline to raise their prices, and growers show no inclination to come down to the values offered; consequently very little business has been done. The fact that a large North Island buyer is now in Canterbury may stimulate matters somewhat, aud it is possible that more bales will have to be recorded during the next few days. Milling Canadian oats are very scarce and much wanted. A few small lines of good feed Duns have changed hands at 2s 5d ex store, and a few good samples of feed sorts have commanded 2s 4d, ex store, all tho sales ■ being for local consumption. There is no demand for malting barley here, and although, in response to inquiries, a number of samples have been sent to Dunedin, so far no business is reported as having resulted. Prime oat sheaf chaff is now being taken for local consumption at Gss on trucks at near stations. Speculators are now offering 42s 6d to 45s for Derwent potatoes at country stations, but growers seem dis- j inclined to do business at this price. .£3 ! 10s is being freely given for onions, and as much, as <£4 10s was paid for a picked lot for shipment. Very little, if any business was done in oats, there being practically none under offer. Blue peas changed hands at 3s 6d, and dim at 3s per bushel.
