WASHINGTON, March 14: The American Government is accelerating the construction of a hundred and fifty big guns at the Washington factory, with a view to arming thirty auxiliary cruisers. Inspection is also being made of forty steamers suitable for conversion into cruisers. A mong these are the new American line mail steamers St Paul and St Louis. Beceived March 16, 12.40 a.m. March 15. The United States Government has purchased two warships from the Brazilian Government. VIENNA,. March 15. Emperor Francis is endeavouring to induce che Powers to represent to the United States the danger to Europe of farther interference in the Cuban trouble.
