THE SOUDAN.

News from the Soudan states that the dervishes under Osman Digna are within ten miles of the Atbara River, where Sir Herbert Kitchener has fourteen thousand men under his command, and an attack is impending. Major- General Gateacre's brigade performed a splendid march to the front. The Egyptian .troops captured a considerable amount of stores and food from the enemy. Spies who have arrived at the camp at the Atbara River report that the dervishes lack supplies.
