ADVERTISING ON TELEGRAPH POLES.
This City Council has for some considerable time been in communication with the Post and Telegraph Department as to the disfigurement of telegraph posts in the city by advertisements and posters. A. reply has at last been received from the Department, which runs as follows:-— " Sir, — I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of Feb. 26, asking that advertising posters affixed to telegraph posts in your city should be removed, and, in reply, to inform* you that this will be done as soon as sufficient raia has fallen to thoroughly wet them."
