TITULAR DISTINCTIONS.
Dukes seem to be still regarded in Scotland as little IeBB than sacred. The Presbytery of Dunkeld wishes to have access to a charter said to be in possession of the Duke of Atholl, in virtue of which he holds the Cathedral Church of Dunkeld in trust for the inhabitants of the parish. The members of the local Presbytery have been discussing at vast length the question of how they should "approach his Grace." The solicitude expressed for the feelings of his ■ Grace and the anxiety to eliminate from the " approaching " deputation members whose names' might be offensive to him, display a strangely oldfaßhioned conception of the sanctity of the bearer of a title.
