MADAME AMY SHERWIN.

* The decision to reduce the prices of admission to Madame Sherwin's last three concerts was evidently a wise one. The audience last night was large, and it appeared to appreciate most thoroughly the efforts of the various performers. Madame' Sh'erwin sang the Aye Maria arranged from the intermezzo in Cavalleria Rusticana, "Oriante Nature," from Gounod's Philemon and Baucis, and "Lo, Here the Gentle Lark." All three were, of course, encored, the first-named was repeated, and the singer responded in turn with "O Ma Babbie" (G. H. Ciutsam) and " Twas Within a Mile." Mies Kitty Grindlay's contributions to the programme were " Sunshine and Rain," by Blumenthal, " God be With You," by Maggie Menzies-Emblad, and the Scotch ballad, '• The Flowers of the Forest ; while Mr Arthur Deane gave " Ever My •Queen." by Meyerbeer, "The Donovans," and " Off to Philadelphia." Mr Alberto Zelman played a couple of selections for the violin. Mr Herbert Stoneham provided a flute solo, and Mr Scezepanowski, besides playing the various accompaniments, contributed a piano solo. There will be another concert to-night, when Madame Sherwin will *ing "Wi Nahte Mer der Schlummer, from Der Freischiltz ; " I Dreamt That I Dwelt in Marble Halls," from > The Bohemian Girl, and •" The Last Rosa of Summer." Madame Amy Sherwin ,sang on Sunday, in St . John's Church, at the close of the seryice, . " Theve is a Green BJill Far Away," to Gounod's setting. The sacred words were rendered with Madame's usual sweetness and sympathy. There was a very large congregation and Mr T. F. Faulkner, the organist, was the accompanist.
