DEMONSTRATION OF MINERS.
A BEIUEKABLE SCENE. UmM P«M Asipcifttffiii-By Electno TelegraphCopyright. Beceived March 14, 10 a.m. KALGOORLIE, March 13, A remarkable scene took place at Kal- ! goorlie. Two miners were committed for contempt of court. The police scoured the district for the men without success, and then a force of over two thousand miners escorted them to Kalgoorlie from the Ivanhoe lease. The force had swelled to six thousand when Kalgoorlie was reached and the police were then afraid to arrest the men, fearing trouble ; but the demonstration was most orderly. The general opinion is that the Government has received it3 death-blow, as far as the goldfields are concerned, for its attitude over the Ivanhoe affair.
