CANTERBURY ENGINEERS.

. The Canterbury Engineers went through their volley firing at Bromley range on Saturday. Colonel Gordon, assisted by Staff-Sergeanb-Major .Barrett, conducted the practice. The corps mustered fortyfour, under Captain Dougall. Lieutenants Anderson and Bridgman were also present. Thirty-five men fired, making in volley 593 points, giving an average of 16%94, and in the independent firing 642 points, averaging 18-34. The day was favourable for shooting, and the result was better than that of last year. A competition between the squads was won by No. 2 (Sergeant Smith's).
