Drunkenness. — A -first .'offender and Mary Stewart were each fined os and costs, with the usual alternative. ' . (Before Mr R.Beetham/S.M.')! Crv'iL Cases. — Judgment for plaintiffs by default was given as follows : — Thomas Kerr v. Frederick Harrison, claim ,£-i; Sargood, Son\ and Ewen v. W. K-iter, claim £49 Is 8d; and James Archer v. E. Archer, claim .£1 10s.— J. W. Simms v. H. J. Weeks, claim 15s. This was a claim for overtime wages, which it was alleged were due to plaintiff. Judgment for defendant. — Bajk of New Zealand, Duuedin, v. John Gray, claim i£3o; ' "Mr Cresswell appeared for the judgment debtor, and Mr'Cowlishaw for the plaintiff. Defendant's ability to pay was not proved and no order was made. — W. Greig v. Annie M'Kenzie, claim £1 18s. Defendant's ability to pay was not proved and no order was made. — G. Treleaven and Co. v. Frederick Young, claim £o 7s 6d, was" ad jonrned till F*b. 7.
