HIBERNIAN SOCIETY.

The half-yearly meeting of the St Patrick's Branch, No. 82, was held in the Hibernian Hall on Monday evening last. Bro Gresham presided. There was a large 1 attendance. The balance-sheet and auditors' report were real! and adopted, being considered of a vory satisfactory nature. A pleasing featuro of the evening was the presentation, by P.D.P. Bro Sellars, on behalf of the District Executive, of a handsomely-framed photo of the district officers, as a memento of the second annual movable meeting held in Christchurch. Correspondence fi-oin the Ivy of Linwood Druids' Lodge and the 1.M.8. Association was dealt with. Reports from the Finance and Management Committees were read and approved. The business paper of the forthcoming annual meeting of the district was discussed, and the necessary instructions ordered to be handed to the delegates. The election of officers was then proceeded with as follows :— President, Bro J. Gres ham (re-elected); vice-president, Bro C" Courteney (re-elected;,- secretary, Bro G' J. Sellars (re-elected) ; assistant secretary" Bro J. Steele (re-elected) ; treasurer, Bro' ' J. M'Cormick ; warden, Bro F. J. Doolan ; guardian, Bro James Hondron ; sick visitors, Bros F. J. O'Counell and W. Smith ; auditors, Bros Steinmetz and J. Curtayne j ■ medical attendants, Drs G. and J. Deamers and Dr Bolger; delegates' to district annual meeting, Bros It. Foley and James ' Hendron. The incoming officers were ■ then installed into their various offices by P.P. Bro J. R. Hayward. After the newlyelected officers had taken their places/votes of thanks were passed to the retiring officers and duly responded to. The meeting wa3 closed in the usual manner. •
