A PRETTY SCREEN.
A handsome screen for the dining-room may easily be made out of an old clotheshorse. Choose a three-fold one, put a piece of vood along the bottom, from one rail to the other, then cover th,e whole with canvas, firmly tacked on. Get some brocade that suits the colour of your room, and cover half the screen with it, the other half cover with Japanese leather paper. Get some ribbon velvet four inches wide and nail this on the inside of the screen •with gold-headed nails ; three rows of it, six inches apart, across the leather paper. This makes an excellent gallery for photographs.
