THE WEASEL NUISANCE.
The Auckland Star says that some of the visitors to the Hamilton regatta witnessed an unusual sight. Their attention was attracted by the strange antics of a wild duck in the water, and a closer investigation showed that it was attacked by a weasel. The bird had evidently been for a run on shore, when the weasel fastened hold of it. The duck succeeded in dragging its enemy to the side of the lake, and l after a short struggle in the water managed to escape.
