The weekly returns of the Bank of England, pulished to-day, show the total reserve to be .£19,085,000, and the proportion of reserve to liabilities, 39*17. Three months' bills are discounted at 2 to per cent. Consols, 113. New South Wales 4 per cent stock 121, 31 per cent 108£, 3 per cent 102; Victorian 4 per cent 112, 31 per cent 106; South Australian 81 per cent 110, 3 per cent 100; Queensland 4 per cent 113$, 31 per cent 106 ; New Zealand 4 per cent 116, 31 per cent 109 J, 3 per cent 1011; Tasmanian 31 percent 1101; West Australian 31 per cent 107. The English wheat market is firm, but little business is doing ; the Continental is inactive and the American declining. Californian No. 1 milling 37s 3d, Russian cargoe3 37s 6d, London quotations for hard Duluth 40s 9d. Sugar dull. Java lis 3d, German 9s 6d. No. 1 best Scotch pig iron f.o.b. in the Clyde, 45s 4ld. The Bradford wool market is improving. Butter — Australian, dull 96s to 98s, a few boxes realising 1003. Unseasonable weather is depressing the market. Danish 108s to 110s. Rabbits, Colonial, dull of sale at 81d.
