Scientific— Mr Geo.' Hogben, headmaster of the Timaru High School, has started for Sydney to attend the ineetino- of the Asssociation for the Advancement of Science. Mr Hogben is secretary to the I Seismological Committee of the Association. Mr G. Gray, lecturer on chemistry at the Agricultural College, Lincoln, left yesterday to attend the annual meeting of the Australasian Association for the Advancement of Science, which is to be held at Sydney He will represent the Canterbury Philosophical Institute at the meeting.
