PRIZE DISTRIBUTIONS.

♦ HEATHCOTE VALLEY. The annual distribution of prizes took place at the Heathcote Valley district school on Friday, Dec. 24-. The following are the prize-takers: — Standard Vl.—Mary AVeir, 1 ; Amy Muuldey, ?.. S-audard V.—l.estock Beid, 1; William Wallace, •_; James Knighton, 3. Sewing Prizes.—Mysie Scott, Jeannie Scott, Emma Hedgmau and Mary Ruruell. BROMLEY. The Bromley school treat and prize distribution took place on Dec. 17. Sports were held in the paddock opposite the school, and all the children, with their parents and friends, had a most enjoyable day. After tea, which was served in the school, the Chairman, assisted by Mr Andrews, distributed prizes to every child attending the school. Special prizes were given as follows: — Class Vl.—Edwin Andrews and Edward Crockett. Class V.—Emily Leigh and Nellie Scott for passing in every subject, Bose Siblev for best attendance. Class IV.—Healy Andrews, Minnie M'Kenna, Julia B.mse, Bobert Gardner, Edgar Gallop, and extra special to George Bedding for passing in all subjects and bestatt-mdanc-iof all the boys, prize given by Mm Crockett. Class Ifl.—Kobert Anderson, John Boocock, Elsie Lewis, Maud Leigh, Elsie Lawrence for passing* in every subject, and Florrie Andrews for best attendance. Class ll.—Ada Thorn, Edward Boocock, Herbert Cook and Fred Bedding for passing in every subject. Class I.— Lizzie Garnet., l.ucy Soper, Mary Wilson and John M'Kenna for passing in ever^ subject. Sewing prizes: Standard V.—Bose Sebley, 1 (prize giv_n by Mrs E. Walker;; Emily Leigh, 2 (prize given by Miss Stewart). Standard IV.—Minnie M'Kenna, 1; Hetty Andrews, •£.
