The Governor. — His Excellency the Governor and party, who are to be present sit the regatta, at Lyttelton, on New Year's Day, left "Wellington in the Tutanelcai last evening for Lyttelton, en route for the West Coast sounds. Belleixgebs' Society. — The annual meeting' of the Cathedral Bellringevs 1 Society was held on Tuesday night in the tell chamber. The president, t!:e Eev W. Dunkley, presided, and there was a large attendance of members. One new member was proposed and accepted. The following officers were duly elected:— Mr Smart* master ringer; Mr Marriott, 'deputymaster ; Mr TV. Siranders, secretary ; Mr TV. Baker, treasurer. The meeting terminated with a hearty vote of thanks to the Chairman and the retiring officers.
