Walker,' intimating ' that the matter of the Burnham School would receive due consideration. , The Secretary of the Australasian Society - . of Social Ethics wrote, asking, the com- 7 ' mittee to reconsider its decision as tb ' appointing delegates to confer upon the t question of an international language, and ' it was decided to senda delegate conditionf ally. _ The sub-committee reported upon the , _ arrangements for the " Bocial," to be held next Thursday evening, and several mem* bers said that tickets were going off rapidly. \ The Lands Sub-Committee reported thafc •' , it had carefully considered Mr E. J. , Le Grove's " State Farm Scheme," and was of opinion that it was an excellent one, but, / s that it was somewhat on the lines of that ' of the Hon W. M. Services op Song.— A service of song entitled " Jessica's First Prayer," was rendered by tho juvenile choir of the Syden- . ham Presbyterian Sunday School in the Druids' Hall, Sydenham, on Thursday, > when there was a good attendance. The ' children, under the leadership of the Eev E. < S. Allan, sang very creditably. The connective readings were read by Mr W, West, and the musical parts were, taken by Miss Meikleham, organ, Miss Katie M'Lean, piano, and Mr W. M'Leau, cornet. The service of song was illustrated by limelight views, and at the conclusion a lantern' entertainment was given by Mr Jones.— The service of song, " Bramble Bush Farm," was given in the Linwood Primitive Methodist Church on Thursday evening, and proved very successful.. The Parish Council of Shaftesbury tho other day approached its neighbour council of East Stour (Dorsetshire), with a viow to • a common celebration of the Queen's rehm, in which festivities bore a part. Butthe East Stour councilmen wero of a "frugal mind," and accordingly transmitted to their - brethren of the Shaftesbury parish the following determination : " Resolved, to buy a wheel-bier to celebrate tho Jubilee, and not to join in the Shafteßbury festivities and hospital soheme.'*
