THE BOOTMAKING TRADE.
After the award of the Arbitration Court in the dispute between the Master Bootmakers' Association and the Bootmakers' Union, which was accepted by all the associated houses, was- announced, an endeavour was made to get the twelve unassociated shops to agree to work under the terms of the award. The endeavour has been so far successful that seven out of the twelve shops have now been registered and have agreed to work in harmony with the Association. As five firms still decline to agree to the terms of the award, the Bootmakers' Union has stated a case, and the Conciliation Board will sit at ten o'clock on Mbndav to consider it.
