- [Per Press Association.! WELLINGTON, Jan. 21.. The public accounts for the December i quarter have just been gazetted. The revenue is as follows : — I

The increase as compared with the j corresponding quarter of the previous year is £140,539. The chief items showing an increase are Customs, stamps, post and telegraphic, beer duty, railways and territorial. The revenue for the nine months ending Dec. 31, 1896, was £3,288,814; for the nine months ending Dec. 31, 1895, it was £3,025,219. The increase for 1896 over 1895 is £263,595.
