Results : — JANUARY HANDICAP, of 100 soys • one mile and a furlong.— Sea Serpent Gst 91b (Hercoek), 1 • Tbe Miser Bst, 21b ; Trentalto ßst, 3. All started. Sea Serpent was first away, and was never caught, winning under the whip by half a length. Time— lmin 5-sec. Dividend— £B le. HURDLE HANDICAP, of 100 soys ; one mile and three quarters— Tau garoa lOst 71b ( Hjggins), 1 ; Much Ado 10&t, 2; Aquafortis 9st 71b, 3. All started. After going a mile, Taugaroa and Much Ado drew out three lengt 1 s fnra Aquafortis and Bush Girl, witb Revolt a hnd last. Tangaroa had to stall oif a rush by Much Ado in the Btraight, and won by half a length. Time— 3min 23|sec. Dividend—£3 ss. Revolt, who was last, • ied in the straight, nfter passing tbe post, it is believed from an affection of the heart.
