i [Per Press Association.! 1 1 WELLINGTON, Jan. 22. a In reference to transfers from the Per--0 manent Artillery to the polico, the Commander of the forces (Colonel Polo Penton), has reported that it is undesirable that any transfers should take place, unless c after three years from date of enrolment, c and that, in future, any men engaged in a tho Permanent Artillery or Torpedo Corps must remain there for three years before ,_ being transferred. This is not to apply to 0 those who havo been enrolled prior to tho c new regulations coming into force, but, in respect to these, at least one year's service iv the Permanent Artillery or TorpedoCorps will bo requiied.
