A fire started in Mr W. Hibbard's paddock, about three-quarters of a mile from Southbridge, about 11 o'clock yesterday morning. A large straw stack was destroyed, but the exertions of the Southbridge Fire Brigade and a number of willing hands prevented further damage being done.

Sydenham Sewage Question. — The Sanitary Committee of the Sydenham Borough Council met last night, but nothing has been divulged in reference to its proceedings.
