FIRES.
[Per Press Association.J WELLINGTON, Jan. gl. The Waingaroa Bridge, near Carterton, caught fire^ it is supposed, from a spai'k from a traction engine. Mrs Cameron, who was driving home, saw it and carried water in a millinery box, which checked the fire till assistance came, and saved the - bridge.
