o [From Our Correspondent."! TIMAEU, Dec" 26. The Grand Lodge of the Middle Island met this morning, Grand Master Mathers presiding. Fifty delegates were present. It -was reported that the number of members was one thousand, and tbe credit balance ,£__. The election of officers resulted as follows: — Grand master, Bro Mathers ; deputy-master, Bro Middleton ; secretary, Bro Caygill; treasurer, Bro Diffin ; assistant secretary, Bro Willis ; auditors, Bros Kobertson and Kinnimouth ; chaplains, Eevs Sharp, Brooke, Grey and Greig, Bros Dyson, Beresford and Hilton ; grand committee, Bros M'Cullough, Greig, Hilton, Ricketts and Hanna.; The Lodge sat down to a banquet in the evening at Worry's Temperance Hotel. There was a large attendance. Congratulatory speeches were made by prominent officers. It is expected that the business will be concluded to-morrow afternoon.
