THE INTENSE HEAT. [Per Press Association.] SYDNEY, Dec. 28. The heat was overpowering in the city to-day, the thermometer registering 100J in the shade. There was a cool change tonight with signs of rain, but the heat is still intense in the country. At Coalwan the register has been 116, and at Ungarie 124 for the last three days. There has been great damage to the crops, especially grapes. Two severe cases of sunstroke occurred in the city.
