DUNEDIN, Dec. 17. The first wool sale of the season is being 1 held to-day, 4951 bales being catalogued. ■ There is a full attendance of buyers, Eng- : lish, colonial and local manufacturers being well represented. Prices, although equivalent to London values, were not equal to last season's, longwools and cross--1 breds heing from a halfpenny to a penny below the prices ruling at the opening sale labfc year. Merinoes have not suffered to the same extent, but owing to the superior condition of the wools some clips realised prices almost equal to those : of last season.
