RANGIORA PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH.
A special meeting of the congregation of the Rangiora Presbyterian Church was held on Tuesday evening. There was an attendance: of about forty. The ISev iP. U.. Monro pnesidea. A letter was read from the Clerk to the Proßbytery, officially notifying the Rev P. E. Monro's resignation of the charge, and requesting the congregation to elect representatives to attend a special meeting of the Presbytery, convened for Thursday, to deal with the matter. Several of those present expressed deep regret at the prospect of the closing of Mr Monro's ministry in the Eangiora church ; a feeling they felt sure was shared by practically, the -whole congregation. The speakers all testified to the good work done by Mr Monro during the five years he. had been connected with the Church. Mr J. Marshall moved — "That Messrß M. Macfarlane, T. Keir and D. Buddo, with Mr" P. Ivirach of the Loburn Church, be appointed a deputation to' the Presbytery,- to express the mind of the congregation in regard to the Bey P. R. Monro's resignation." This was seconded by Mr D; Buddo and carried. Mr Monro thanked those who had spoken for the kindly remarks made, and then closed the meeting with the Benediction.
