A PECULIAR COINCIDENCE.
The New Zealand Times says that while a man named Henry Hicks, who resides at Melrose, was proceeding home across the hills on Monday evening, he slipped down a hole and broke his right leg above the ankle. He lay out on the hills all night, and was found next morning by a man who, fortunately, happened to pass him. Information was at once given to the police, who went out and conveyed Hicks to the hos; pital. Some years ago Hicks broke the same leg in exactly the same place under similar circumstances. The accident took place on the Melrose hills, and Hicks, who is seventy-eight years of age, on that occasion had afso to remain out all night until he was found next morning.
