THE CHRISTCHURCH ELECTION.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, — According to a Wellington paper the Rev L. M. Isitt is reported to have said at one of his meetings (held last week) " that the prohibitionists were going to strain every nerve to secure the return of Mr T. E. Taylor for Christchurch at the general election." What aboiiD Mr J. Gr. Smith? Is there a split in the camp? Are they not satisfied with Mr Smith's " sitting on the rail " regarding education, seeing that Mr L. M. Isitt is now in favour of our present system ? After recent exposures, I hope Mr L. M. Isitt will " strain every nerve to thoroughly clean out the Prohibition Aiigean stable/ so that in the future we will have reformers of unblemished character. — I am, Ac, A WOEKING CALLANT.
