WAIMAKARIRI HARBOUR BOARD.

« , v The monthly meeting of this Board was held last evening ; present — The Mayor and Messrs Wright, Doubleday, Mathews, Parnhain, Hiatt and Lissaman. Correspondence was received : — Prom Mr Eckersley, notifying that Mrs May refused to pay any more insurance on the buildings leased from the Board. From Mr D. Buddo, informing the Board that the Harbour Board Bill had been passed. It was decided to send lettsrs of thanks to Mr Buddo and the Hon E. Richardson. The Board then went into committee, and, on resuming, it was stated that legal action would be taken to recover the insurance. It also decided to have the new foreshores duly surveyed. The pilot's report stated that there had been very little change in the river ; there were two channels, and he had found Sft on the bar. During the month there had been inwards 150 tons and outwards 126 tons. On Sept. 18 the Kestrel grounded. It was decided to have the bar sounded at once. The Finance Committee reported receipts .£5 11s 2d and bank - balance .£2S 7s lid. Accounts amounting to .£ll 16s lid were passed for pa3 r ment. Tenders for removing willows from the river between the two bridges were opened, and that oil P. Sullivan, was accepted. The proceedings then terminated.
