THE -ZANZIBAR CRISIS.
A NEW SULTAJS" PROCLAIMED. [Per Press association.! ZANZIBAR, August 28. Mr Cave, the British Consul, has proclaimed Hamud, an elderly cousin of the late monarch, Sultan of Zanzibar. The gunboats Thrush and Racoon were repeatedly hit by the rebel fire, but received little damage. Only one sailor was ■ wounded. The rebels fought pluckily, and lost heavily. Khalend bolted ea/ly in the engagement.
