SINKING A CARGO STEAMER,
HEAPS OF BLAZING- RUINS
CAPTURING- THE REBELS
[Per Press Association.] ZANZIBAR, August 27. Khaled'3 party armed a cargo steamer and fired on the British men-of-war, but the vessel was speedily sunk.
The palace and the old Custom House are now a heap of blazing ruins, and the British are trying to extinguish the flames. Khaled, with his chief adherents, took refuge iv the Grerrnan Consulate.
The sailors are engaged in capturing the rebels.
Firing is proceeding in the outskirts of the town, where Captain Eaikess and four hundred of the Zanzibari army remained loyal.
