Gent: "You reported the day before yesterday that a burglar had got into my house, had broken open my writing-desk, and stolen the money out of it, but fortunately the thief had not perceived the watch which usually lies in another drawer." Editor : " Well, was not that correct ? " Gent: "Correct enough, as far as that goes; only the vile scamp came again last night and collared the watch."
