MR TANNER AT NEW BRIGHTON.
TO THE EDITOR. Sra, — It is thought by many that Mr Tanner is afraid to speak at New Brighton $ but knowing the man and the people at that place he is perfectly safe. True, on the advent of the tram a clique sprang up who seem to survive only through the nursing operations of the former, but have no influence outside that quarter. But, notwithstanding this, they aspire to sending one of their chiefs to Parliament, and are indignant at Mr Tanner opposing them. Should any opposition be anticipated from this quarter the remedy ia a simple one. In the locality lives a female magician, with a magical wand in the shape of a black flag, tho very sight of which brings this clique to her feet. By placing her in the chair peace is assured. — I am, &c, • WHACK-EM.
