Personal. — -Mr J. E. Charlton has made a favourable recovery from his recent misadventure, and will resume practice on Monday. Cheap Fares on the Railway. — Very few persons availed themselves of the reduction in fares on the ChristchurchLyttelton line yesterday, the traffic being about normal. While in Chicago, Mr Charles L. Kahler, a prominent shoe merchant of Des Homes, lowa, had quite a serious time of it. He took sudi a severe cold that he amid hardly talk or navigate, but the prompt use of Chamberlain's Cough Remedy cured him of his cold so qtiickly that others at the hotel who had bad colds followed his example, and half a dozen persons ordered it from the nearest drag store.
