DE JAMESON'S TRIAL.
[Per Press Association.] LONDON, Mahch 17. _ President Kruger has retained Sir E. T. Eeed, Q.C., and Sir G. Lewis to watch Dr Jameson's trial on behalf of the Transvaal. LONDON, March 18. The negotiations between Mr Chamberlain and President Kruger for the settlement of the Transvaal difficulty are still being carried on. Great Britain refuses to modify Article 4. The decision of the. lmperial Government to control police and military lias, to a threat extent, removed the objection to the continuance of the charter to the British South Africa Company.
