SYDENHAM CLUB.
The fourteenth annual general meeting of the Sydenham Football Club was held at the Club Hotel last evening. There was a large attendance of members, and the President, Mr W. H. Meikleham, occupied the chair. The annual report referred to the work done during the past year. Forty-one new members had been electedj, making a total of 135 on the roll. The balance-sheet showed that the receipts had amounted to .£73 2s 9d and the expenditure to .664 9s 7d, leaving a credit balance of .£8 13s 2d. The report arid balance sheet were adopted. The election of officers resulted as follows : — Patron, Mr G. J. Smith, M.H.R. ; president, Mr W. H. Meikleham (re-elected) ; vice-presi-dents, the Eevs W. G. Parsonson, E. A. Scott and R. S. Allen, Messrs W. Jacques, W. Hoban, P. Burke, W. Mann, W. W. Smith, F. E. Asquith, W. E. Munday, J. Forrester, A. Lawrence and Dr Diamond • club captain, Mr S. J. Denham (re- . elected) ; hon secretary, Mr H. Harrison ; ; hon, treasurer, Mr J. Shirlaw; general committee, Messrs H. Forrester, W. Meikleham, Sheldon, J. Sincock and W. Gasson '; selection committee, Messrs Gasson, Forrester and Lawrence ; delegates to the Canterbury Rugby Union, Messrs W. '■ Allardyce, G. Scott, S. J. Denham and S. Cadle; auditors, Messrs W. Hall and S. Cadle. Mr W. Hoban was unanimously elected a life member in consideration of his valuable services to the club. It was decided to open the season on March 7. Mr. F. ! Asquith promised to give a medal for competition among the members of the third fifteen, and was accorded a vote of thanks. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to the retiring officers, and after dealing with some minor matters the meeting closed.
