ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
Yesterday evening a young man named Isaac White, second son of Mr T. White, of North Loburn, was out shooting, when his gun went off accidentally and shot him through the muscles of his left arm above the elbow. He was attended by Drs Volckman and Baber, who hope to save the arm, although the injury is a serious one. At half-past eleven last night, a young man named Samuel Kirk, employed at Messrs Moir and Co.'s Roller Flour Mills, Southbrook, had his right hand severely crushed in the rollers of one of the machines. Fortunately the belts jumped off the pulleys and the machine stopped, otherwise the consequences would have been more serious. Dr Baber rendered 'surgical assistance and there are hopes of saving the hand. A man was admitted to the hospital today complaining of having been kicked by a constable on the South Town Belt last night. .s-
